Mira in an olive utility vest and black tank holds an encrypted drive in the emergency control room
Scene 01

The signal drops

Half the skyline goes dark at 11:10 p.m. In the emergency newsroom control room, screens flicker as Mira, a photojournalist, opens an encrypted drive a frightened engineer just handed her. It appears to show that Meridian Power knew a substation was failing and buried the report. The midnight bulletin airs in fifty minutes.

Two clocks, one incident: Leo verifies power-grid records across the emergency newsroom monitors
Scene 02

Two clocks, one incident

You choose to verify the files. Leo notices that the maintenance export uses a different time zone from the newsroom clock. On screen, the warning seems to arrive after the failure until he aligns the times. The corrected sequence places it before the blackout, but still does not establish who approved ignoring it.

An echo of the same document: Leo verifies power-grid records across the emergency newsroom monitors
Scene 03

An echo of the same document

A public maintenance notice contains a diagram identical to one in the leak. Leo almost counts it as independent confirmation, then finds that both came from the same contractor. It establishes the equipment's identity, not two witnesses to the concealed fault. He separates the matching details from claims that still need direct confirmation.
