Scene 01

A note in your glove

Chandeliers blaze over a gallery full of masked dancers. As you arrive, a folded note slips from your glove: elegant handwriting, one drawn symbol, and a promise that someone here has watched you for a long time. Across the marble floor, a tall masked man raises his glass to you alone.

The second card: Pip, your giddy friend in a bright fox mask, catches your arm and presses the next card into your hand. It points two ways at once: to a hidden alcove behind the velvet curtains, or out to the moonlit balcony. Pip grins, thrilled by the whole game.
Scene 02

Pip, your giddy friend in a bright fox mask, catches your arm and presses the next card into your hand. It points two ways at once: to a hidden alcove behind the velvet curtains, or out to the moonlit balcony. Pip grins, thrilled by the whole game.

Behind the curtain: Behind the heavy velvet, the noise of the ball fades to a hush. The masked man is here, close enough to touch, the final card resting in his hand. His voice drops low and warm. Only a thin silk mask stands between you and the truth.
