Leo, in a tan utility jacket, holds a rope on a crowded evacuation pier at night
Scene 01

More people than seats

Lanterns swing on the pier below the dark quarantine tower. The last boat rocks against the dock, and its captain, Leo, has just realised the crowd is far larger than the seats. In a few hours the tide turns and the boat must go.

The cruel arithmetic: Mira checks the rescue boat's passenger manifest beside stacked lifejackets
Scene 02

The cruel arithmetic

Mira, the boat's medic, spreads the manifest under a lantern. There is fuel for one crossing and seats for barely half the pier. Every empty line on the list is a real person waiting in the cold.

The hardest call: A desperate man forces his way forward, demanding a seat, and the whole pier goes quiet to watch what you do. Behind him a young mother holds a baby and says nothing. Leo steps back and lets you decide.
Scene 03

The hardest call

A desperate man forces his way forward, demanding a seat, and the whole pier goes quiet to watch what you do. Behind him a young mother holds a baby and says nothing. Leo steps back and lets you decide.
